BUG: No sleep data recorded

Hi,

Firmware (still): 6.12

Instinct 2 Solar Tactical

I'm using the watch for almost two weeks now and sleep recording has been excellent so far. Today I woke up and sleep widget on my watch is showing 'No sleep data recorded'. Syncing with Garmin Connect does not show any sleep data, too. Tried restarting the watch and syncing - apparently the data is not there. As I'm writing this I checked the widget and it shows some sleep data (I woke up briefly in the morning and watch shows the data till this point). This might not be firmware fault at all - maybe some Garmin Connect backend server had a hiccup.

Anyone else experienced it?

  • I too have worn my watch for a few days and have only had one day where I had a sleep score and that’s the first day I wore it. Says the same thing as yours all other days.

  • A bit late in joining in, any links to a solved thread? I have very irregular sleep times and kept readjusting schedules, so I might've mucked up something: either on my understanding of how it works or something amissed with the watch itself (highly unlikely on this amazing machinery, my personal opinion lol).
CASE 1 - Woke up, no sleep data so I altered my wake time a minute back to catch that "Good Morning!" I thought I've missed, but it's only showing "Garmin" with a water droplet icon instead of the ZZZ icon - a minute later it switches back to normal watch face on cue, but no sleep report. Now here's a clue: this was scheduled at 1100 to 1300 after it already recorded my sleep hours earlier on the same day between 0200 and 0400.
CASE 2 - Similar clue: It could smartly split and add days when my sleep crosses over between dates, i.e. multiple entries suddenly appearing for Tue-Wed, Wed and Wed-Thu (pretty neat!) but somehow, only the Tue-Wed and Wed-Thu gets gets recorded.

So my take is that perhaps its not designed to display same day multiple sleep schedules? Perhaps in purpose, to cater for limitations on ConnectIQ's interface to avoid data clashes? Which is too bad 'cause now it thinks my body battery is too low when in fact I'm feeling great n all fired up!:)

Correct, only one sleep per day is recorded.

Which is too bad 'cause now it thinks my body battery is too low when in fact I'm feeling great n all fired up!:)

Not really. Body Battery is being discharged or recharged according to the stress level measured with the help of HRV. So if you sleep, and the stress level is low enough, Body Battery will recharge regardless whether the sleep is recorded or not.
