ECG not available in my Connect app / Fenix 8

Hi guys, 

I am reading Garmin ECG Now Available in EU & Australia where he is saying ECG is available in EU. My watch is from here, me to, however I dont see any option in either app or watch to enable it.

Trying to follwo instructions How to Use the ECG App | ECG App | Health Science | Garmin Technology | Garmin, however I dont see any "Select Finish Setup > Set Up ECG App" option

Any hints please? Does it work to someone in EU?

  • Yes, because ECG isn't available for the Venu2 Plus in the EU.

    Click "expand all" and scroll to Venu.

    I'm in Canada with a Fenix ​​7X pro and an iPhone 15 Pro.
    
    For iPhone users to enable the ECG app outside the US:
    
    Set your Garmin account location to the US.
    
    Remove your watch in Garmin Connect on your iPhone.
    
    You need an Android phone to spoof GPS. (No VPN required.)
    
    Get Garmin Connect on your Android phone.
    
    Get any GPS spoofing app from the Google Play Store.
    
    Set the GPS location to the US on your Android phone.
    
    Start setting up the ECG app in Garmin Connect on your Android phone.
    
    Finish setting up the ECG app on your watch.
    
    Go back to your iPhone.
    
    Remove your watch in Garmin Connect on your Android phone.
    
    Add your watch in Garmin Connect on your iPhone.
    
    Go to "Health Stats" and then "ECG" to complete setup.
    
    You're ready to go.

    I would kindly need your support with ECG. I am in Europe, Slovenia which is supported country. My Fenix 8 is on 13.35 and I dont have ECG function, even not in Connect app as an option to add. My wife is having same watch, same phone and she got it like month ago. Both watches came form official sales channel in our country and same shop.

    I have tried to restart watch, phone, remove watch from Connect, however no difference. Also, I got firmware update in between, installed it and still the same.

    Can you please advice how to enable ECG on my watch? Or is it considered as faulty unit?

  • This is not fully true. And it depends...

    Offical Garmin ECG says: ECG    is AVAILABLE in EU, there is list of countries, mostly all, including Hungary.
    Offical Garmin ECG says: VENU 2 PLUS    do HAVE ECG feature. 

    Why it is not available in EU/Hungary?!?! 
    Just asked today official GARMIN-HU :  because it was discontinued JUST before ECG approve, and simply GARMIN did not made the approve-process for VENU 2 PLUS.

    So this was a decision by GARMIN not to do. And because it has not been approved, it cannot be turned on,
    even if V2P supports it, even ECG is available in EU/HUN (for other devices).

    So it was simply business decision by Garmin. Not so customer friendly.

    I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. For this, I would next recommend trying these steps: 

    1. Uninstall the Connect Mobile app
    2. Clear the phone cache and history
    3. Ensure the watch does not appear in the phone's Bluetooth menu. If it is, please remove the device
    4. Powercycle the watch and phone. To do this, hold the Light button until this shuts off. Then power on again
    5. Reinstall the Connect Mobile app
    6. Try the pairing again ( Be sure there are no other Bluetooth enabled device nearby)

    Once paired again, see if ECG is part of the Finish set up. 

    If this is still not showing as an option, I would recommend completing a factory reset on the watch with these steps: 

    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      • You may need to hold LIGHTfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Press and hold BACK and START/STOP.
    3. Press LIGHT to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
    4. After the first beep release START/STOP.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining button.

    Then pair and try again.

  • Dear @Garmin-Laurie  thank you for your kind try to support, however no difference. Even hard reset, deleting connections, removing BT from watch and reinstalling app didnt help.

    I am sorry to hear this is still not working. If the above did not resolve this, I would recommend reaching out to Garmin Product Support, as the watch may need to be replaced.
