Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the watch. I would love to help investigate this further. For this, I will reach out to you via Private Message.
I also had pacepro and navigation turned on.
Experiancing the same with long activity sessions. almost every time reboots during or after saving the session. mostly happens with over 40 minutes activities. I am only using the skating profile atm…
I have had this the last two parkruns where I have used Pace Pro. Other runs have saved without a problem, it has only been when I've used Pace Pro and only started happening since 23.18
F7XSS Pro. 23.22. Few days ago reboot during saving Cardio activity. After reboot I could save the activity. This morning: 25 min Indoor Bike activity - lost during saving, corrupt fit file created. Thereafter 25 min Cardio activity - lost during saving, corrupt fit file created. Live 23.18 and beta 23.22 are absolutely unreliable. 20-30 per cent of activities are either lost or reboot encountered during saving. Garmin, please do something! Corrupt fit files and error logs, ram are uploaded.
I had my first reboot on 23.18 today. The only thing different from normal was that I was using PacePro. The only peripheral I had paired was my HRM Dual, which is what I normally run with. Only a 10km run, so not a massive file. File was saved as Invalid on the watch, so wouldn't sync to Connect.
Keep adding notes if you're experiencing this bug, and more importantly please log a ticket and the issue with Garmin Support. Speaking to support I know the engineers are investigating, so the more logs and data we can share the quicker a fix will be identified.
This past week I had my long run for the week, 55k trail run in the mountains here, with 4000m elevation over 13hrs (10hrs move time). For the first time since beginning of September the activity saved correctly. Trail Run. Navigation enabled. No PacePro - I've not used PacePro on previous activities which failed to save correctly, and used PacePro on activities (with FW 23.18) which have saved. I know the activites during the week are shorter so they'll save. Will see how next weekend's run goes
Ive just experienced the same issue. I was a short (45 mins) weight training activity (no GPS, navigation etc), HRM Pro was connected at the time, and I accidentally performed a rapid stop->start->stop->save action right before the watch reset unexpectedly.
Any update ? I raised ticket to Garmin.
Same thing, twice in this year after long ultramarathon. I raised ticket to Garmin any update ?
Just adding my experience to this thread.
Ran a HM with PacePro and LiveTrack enabled (Auto-start disabled)
Finished the race hit save and watch was on the reboot screen. Then I think I tried to manually reboot it again and it went to the time screen and the activity said "invalid". Since fixed it with the fit file viewer online and uploaded it back to the watch but annoyingly no metrics updated (VO2, training status, training load etc etc.)
I also had it crash on me before without PacePro enabled but LiveTrack enabled (auto-start enabled) and that time when I manually rebooted it went back to the save screen and managed to save properly without corruption although it did initially crash.
So not sure what the root cause of this issue is but I hope Garmin can sort this out because when using features that are intended for your main races/events like LiveTrack and Pacepro it seems to be highly likely to cause issues based on what I'm reading on the forums. Not acceptable really!
