I'm not on the beta-- my my watch forced an update recently, and ALL my audio prompts have recently stopped working. Not sure the update caused it, but seems likely.
I have even gone so far as uninstalling and reinstalling the connect app. I also unpaired my watch. I even did a factory reset of the watch. Nothing has improved the situation.
I hope the next release…

I noticed that Audio prompts only work if my android phone is unlocked and if Garmin Connect run in foreground.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the audio prompts. There is a potential known issue, that may effect audio prompts when using an Android phone. This may effect the language, or prevent audio prompts. This will be resolved with a future Garmin Connect app update.

HI Miss Laurie, i did send you a PM. I did all of the items you suggested but with no luck. thank you.

very interesting! thank you i will try that. Unfortunately during my runs i turn off the screen to save battery! The Tech person from garmin said it is a known issue with android phones. some even get prompts in the wrong language.
"After today’s update, the same issue persists. It is exactly as user 7892399 described: notifications only work when the phone’s screen is active and the app is running in the foreground."
Yes, I am having issues with navigation prompts. I cant pinpoint a date, but known Courses that have worked just stopped within the last 2 weeks ±.
My prompts stopped from BOTH my fenix 7SS and my Edge 830.
I am on Samsung Android, Connect 5.17.1, fenix v22.06, and Edge ___.
That happened to me a couple of updates ago... let's see if it's true and they fix it for good.
