The same problem me too. Garmin probably uses an accelerometer in addition to satellites.Because when I walk, it measures exactly 400 meters. When I run, it measures 500-600 meters. Something is happening…
I have recalibrated several times successfully. I deleted the files from the PC, because restoring the original settings does not work. another garmin mistake and this one.
Main course after calibrating
It does not look it was really successful. The entire calibrated track is rotated some 15° clockwise in comparison to the physical track. If you zoom on the map to the max, you can see that the calibrated track goes though the football grass field on the left and right corners, and even when it goes through the true track it changes the lanes from #1 to #8. I am afraid that it cannot really work.
In your place, I would delete the calibration, and redo it again properly, making sure the best available GPS options are selected, that you have a fresh ephemeris data file on your watch (syncing over the USB cable with Garmin Express is the best way to assure it), and that you "soaked" the GPS signal for at least 5 minutes after having locked the satellites, and before starting the calibration.
