I'm tired of broken Garmin updates.
Did you use Track Run mode in a multisport activity? It sometimes doesn’t track properly in that mode. If that’s the case, finish your warm-up, then start a separate activity on the track. Also, after some updates, the default track is set to lane 1 instead of your usual lane (I run on lane 2). Check your watch settings.
no i don't do multi sports. if i walk it shows me all the 400m laps, in all the stadiums. then i start running and everything goes wrong. also the footprint on the map is perfect, the distances are the problem.
The same problem me too. Garmin probably uses an accelerometer in addition to satellites.Because when I walk, it measures exactly 400 meters. When I run, it measures 500-600 meters. Something is happening.
Did you properly calibrate the track, when first using it? If not, delete the track data, and calibrate it anew. See the following document, if you do not know how:
Using the Track Run Profile on My Compatible Garmin Watch | Garmin Customer Support
Go buy a Suunto Vertical and all your problems will be solved. That's what I did and I can finally sleep at night.
I have recalibrated several times successfully.
If a round on the track reports 500-600 meters, then it does not look it was calibrated successfully. Rounds on the track I am using report exactly 400 m. Could you post a link to one of the activities with the wrong distance? Perhaps we could find some clues in the JSON data. Or exporting the activity and posting the zip file here would be even better for the analysis.
