If you did a backup on your unit previousely and saved the files from your system located in
/Garmin/backup/backups
locally you can restore this backup by just copying it into /Garmin/backup/restore.
Two reboots later you got your settings back in a very fast manner.
I wouldn’t know that for sure before but tried last night successfully. I wouldn’t know whether that works if versions of backup and system software won’t match though.
B/o this: it’s always a good idea to backup the complete folder /Garmin from your system locally at least from every version of it. I do that every time I connect the system to my PC. I’d suggest at least to keep the content of the Backup folder and the /Garmin/Text folder. These are the language files if you have to do “The really hard factory reset” this folder isn’t restored automatically and it saves time to have it handy.
