Garmin Fenix 7 stuck on reset default settings

I know this has been posted several times before.
But I just wanted to add another post about this issue as this seems to be a rather serious issue with the Fenix 7 version and from all i can say is garmin should replace the watch.

I have been trying to soak the watch and all other suggestions found, however it just ends up "reste default settings?" yes/no , and i cant get out of that.

Anyone been able to get hold of garmin support and what is the next way forward here?

Are you still able to switch off the system by long pressing the light button until it switches off? If so there might be a last chance provided it's not the button itself: You could factory reset by using the buttons when switching on. I seem to remember that there is no confirmation needed and the reset is performed right away:

After the system is of position yurself in a way that you can press & release START & BACK independently, i.e. hold both Index fingers and press START & BACK. While pressing use the left thumb and switch the unit on. Press START & BACK while doing that. A first beep should occure: release START while BACK is still pressed. After the second beep release the BACK button. If after the welcome screen the Question about the language appears you're one step further. You can try this again as often as you wish, sometimes It won't work at the first try i.e. when you didn't release at the right moment.

After that you will see whether you can set up the system.
