Fenix 7 and music via Spotify - cant get volume over half

Hi, I just downloaded some playlists to my fenix7 via spotify app, just to be able to run without cell phone.

However with paired headphones Intezze Core (and I have tried also other ones from different brand) I can´t get volume over half so its very quiet. Does not matter if I try this with playlist, single record or podcast. The other thing is that volume up/volume down display on Fenix 7 does not react and you can only hear that you are lowering or raising music volume it by pressing + - using watch display or buttons.

Using music control of the phone (the other option via Fenix 7)  this does not happen and besides that I can volume up to max. Also display reacts adequately. And of course, music provider on my phone is also spotify. It seems like this must be some Spotify app in Fenix7 issue. Checking the store, last version is 1.7.3, while in my watch its 1.7.2 but there does not seem to be way to update it manually.

Assuming its really app issue, is there any workaround in the meantime before it gets fixed? Like another app from IQ store that can be connected to spotify?

Thank you.

  • I'm having the same issue. Fenix 7 sapphire solar with AirPods.

Volume is stuck at ~40%. If I push the down button a bunch of times, I can turn the volume down, but it won't let me go above ~40%. Using the +/- buttons on the screen doesn't do anything.

Tried power cycling, pairing and unpairing my headphones, and reinstalling update.

If I use a no-name headphone with physical volume controls, I can change the volume from there, and it reflects on the screen. However, one headphone will work for several clicks, then I have to switch to the other one to keep turning it up/down more.

  • Update June 5, 2025:

Our engineers are aware of a concern that may prevent the controls on the watch from functioning, for things such as volume. This is a software related concern. So if you are experiencing this, you watch does not need to be replaced. They are expecting to have this resolved with a software release, as early as mid-late June.
