My Fenix 7 wrist HR monitor just froze on race day

So I was racing 21k and used pace pro. Wrist HR readings were totally wrong for the whole time. First it was stuck at 125, then moved up a bit, but still off. It should have been 170++ avg and over 185max. I pushed hard and I know myself well , I run 17km@5:15 pace and my HRavg was 171 just a week before.

40 beats off is just unacceptable for high end 600€ sports watch.

I think there is some bugs connected to pace pro and DSW , because I only ever have bad HR readings when I use those features. I posted this on reddit and some other user shared similar exp - he used strap and pace pro.

  • Here is a graph from another user. He used strap and pace pro and fenix 8.

How do you get 130 BPM on 21k race!?!

    Disappointed.

  • The wrist HR is a catastrophy at fenix 7 - but only during activities:

When I do some laundry it shows my HR at ~85, that's totally fine - when I go on a fast walk after that and start an activity it drops to ~55, which I'd normally have relaxing on the couch. I think it measures correctly often but the software does corrections during activities that don't make sense.

(you can see that the HR only drops beyond 60during the 10 minutes activity)

The problem never occurs when I use the HRM pro plus.

, any advice? Is there such an algorithm that corrects HR data? Is it known that there sth. wrong with it? Will there be a fix?
