For Fenix 7 PRO series only: Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. If you are seeing a significant reduction in your battery life, our engineers would love to help investigate this further…
Garmin engineers do this intentionally to get you to buy a new watch.
Dirty politics
The problem with increased battery consumption definitely exists! (Perhaps it is less noticeable on the AMOLED devices due to the already high power consumption and it is certainly less obvious when many…
I have the same problems, I used only stock widgets and I was not able to reach 15 days on my garmin fenix 7 pro saphire solar. Now I downgraded it to 17.28 version and battery consuption looks a lot smaller…
if you deactivate the automatic update and do not connect to garmin express, if you revert to 17.28 you will not have ecg and other things but the various settings including your training status etc etc should be restored
The biggest problem with the downgrade is that most apps now requires newest IQ 8 version. So you will not be able to download any of the apps, like spotify, gopro, or popular watchfaces. At least I had this problem
Same problem, 5 hours hiking reduced battery from 98% to 15%

Ahhh, how many of you guys are beta testers thinking that you're running production software?
For Fenix 7 PRO series only: Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. If you are seeing a significant reduction in your battery life, our engineers would love to help investigate this further. For this, please feel free to reach out to me via Private Message. I would happy to collect the details of this concern.
For Fenix 7 Non-Pro series: We are sorry you are experiencing rapid battery drain on your watch. Please see the following FAQ for recommendations and troubleshooting steps Why is My fēnix 7 or fēnix 7 Pro Watch Battery Draining Quickly? and if you continue to experience accelerated battery drain after using the device for at least a week, we can reset your device to default settings only. This will not delete any saved data.
Yeah, everything’s crisp on the stable version after all
Actually I reverted to 17.28 and still have ECG (not that I use it)
ECG was added also to my 17.28, which I have never left.
And they also remove the old firmware so it’s impossible to get original functionality / performance / battery life. I wouldn’t advise anyone to buy Garmin.
Hi Laurie,
Please show us how to gather data to find out which activities are consuming more energy than they should, as well as track what normal usage is supposed to be in a CIQ App.
This is useful not only for engineers but also for us to know what percentage an activity is consuming, and when a value exceeds an established parameter, we can report it.
Look how many users report that the version with the best battery life is 17.28. It's undeniable that from that version to 20.22, there have been quite a few bug fixes for errors and issues, as well as improvements and valid updates. But if you look closely, many users are living with unfixed bugs and without those introduced in new versions to achieve longer battery life.
I think it would be good, at least for those interested in contributing and helping to find out why they feel the battery drain is increasing on the same devices, to teach them how to find that information and provide more information to developers so they can fix the issues more quickly.
