Dear Garmin Support,
I am writing to report significant and persistent functionality issues with my Garmin fēnix 7 Series Solar watch, which began on or around March 23, 2025.
Since that date, I have experienced the following problems:
- Gyroscope Malfunction: The gyroscope/vibrate repeatedly turns on and off throughout the day, without any user input.
- Backlight Issues: The watch's background light turns on unexpectedly and remains illuminated, draining the battery.
- Activity Tracking Problems:
- During running and other activities, I am unable to advance to the next lap. The lap button either does not respond, freezes, or the watch returns to the main watch face.
- During swimming activities, the watch automatically jumps to the next lap, freezes, and prevents me from logging laps or rest intervals.
- I cannot log laps, or start activities, or the watch freezes.
These issues are severely impacting the usability of my watch and are particularly disruptive during my fitness activities.
I have attempted to restart the watch, full system restart, downloaded a backup and recharged it to full capacity.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving these problems. Please advise on the next steps I should take to repair or replace my device.
My watch's serial number is: [mod edit]
Software: 20.22
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
James Miller
