Log HRV Not Working

Hi!,

I have a Garmin Fenix 7 Pro Solar, as well as a Garmin HRM Pro+ chest strap, and yet when I set Log HRV to "Yes", my FIT files are still not outputting HRV data.

Has anyone had this issue? I understand this is a somewhat obscure setting, but it does have potential use in training. Customer service seemed to not even be aware of this functionality.

Appreciate hearing any input / similar experiences!

    Just to double-check, how are you determining this? By at looking at the activity in the Connect app or website?

    Activity HRV data won't be displayed in Connect (or used by Garmin for anything). You need to use a 3rd party app or site like https://runalyze.com to see the activity HRV graph.

    You can also download raw HRV data by opening your activity in the Connect website, selecting gear icon > Export File to download the original FIT file (as a ZIP), and opening the FIT file in www.fitfileviewer.com.

    Hi,

    I use these values to compute the DFA a1 and actually did not encounter any issues, i.e., the fit file has the RR intervals stored (fw 20.22, F7 Standard). As FlowState suggested, have you checked with fitfileviewer if the fit file actually has these values?

    Me again, sorry. What activity are you doing? I ask because I just realized that HRV is not recorded in some profile, for example, the walking profile. It certainly works for the running, trail running and stair climbing profiles.
