I'm not a regular napper so I'm maybe not a great example. It has worked successfully maybe a couple of times in the past and I'm not aware of any false positives, though maybe I'm not looking at the Sleep Coach often enough.
I can confirm is not working from 19.34, I was fascinating as Garmin could be aware about Nap, working correctly almost 100% on my case, but not anymore... I need to put watch on Nap Mode to work select how many minutes I was take to sleep.
It's a shame because the watch uses many of the sleep metrics as part of its overall health value. The fact that it can't properly detect a nap and therefore isn't taken into account for the metrics, when other brands do work in this regard (Fitbit, Whoop), is something I still don't fully understand.
There is an aspect that Garmin does focus on, but I've realized that with regard to bugs, I think they're happy for it to reach production so they can resolve them. When people report them on the Beta forums, it's as if they ignore them. I know that's not the case, but at times, that's how I feel.
I know Laurie-Garmin does a great job and it's not easy, but the team needs to be bigger so that the digital division (Forum/Support/Website) works much better.
I hope that in some version, if I haven't already changed brands, the most basic features won't break and will work as they should.
I'm on 22.03 firmware Fenix 7X Pro and I had a nap today which detected perfectly. But I can confirm that nap detection is triggering when you're actually sleeping before that it's triggered when you were just resting.
I have had one nap detected when in reality I've taken hundreds. And the one that was detected was not a nap but just a very low activity rest period. This is across multiple firmware versions. Currently on 21.19.
FWIW my F7S Pro, on 21.19, detected a 38 minute nap today. I'm not surprised as I was awake earlier than usual and was on a ferry journey at the time, so catching up on lost sleep.
