Fenix 7 Pro charging issue

Hi,

For the past couple of months, the only way to charge my fēnix 7 Pro – Sapphire Solar Edition has been to power it off first with the cable plugged in; otherwise, it won’t start charging. I’ve tried three different cables, but this is the only method that works. I’m running the latest software version. Any suggestions?

    I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. There are a few initial steps I would recommend trying. 

    • You mentioned trying other cables. Be sure as well to clean the contacts on the back of the watch and cable. For this, you can use rubbing alcohol. 
    • Have you tried the charging with multiple wall outlets, as well as a computer port? Try to avoid using a USB hub or potable power source. 
    • If this continues, I would recommend completing a factory reset on the watch with these steps: 
    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      • You may need to hold LIGHTfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Press and hold BACK and START/STOP.
    3. Press LIGHT to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
    4. After the first beep release START/STOP.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining button.

    If this continues the device may need to be replaced. I would recommend contacting Garmin Product Support.
