I will wait for the next fw release to see if it fixes the problems before downgrading to a working fw (4 months ago, when I bought the watch, it had version 18.16 and was 100% fine). That said, I have a question about the downgrade operation. Some of the watch's internal modules, e.g. GPS, NFC and so on, received an update when Garmin released a new fw, so I wonder if installing an earlier version could potentially create side effects because of that.

If you revert to 18.16, any upgrades and tweaks/features in the later FW will be left out. GPS etc are getting their update via the FW, since it's a one package for all the modules, plus the watch goes trough the complete factory reset. I would say no issues with it, accept you lose all the tweaks and (potential) improvements for the modules.

18.16 has already met my needs, so there is no problem losing what will come later. Thank you!

At this time I realy prefer to revert back, HRM only works when I reboot whatch, I need to do it during a cycling activity. Also Power meter just connect after rebooting, GRADE is not working...it is a mess this newer FW. Already tried factory reset.

How do i find the /Garmin folder from Macbook?

Mac doesn't mount MTP devices anymore, Garmin included. To access it, you need something like Android file transfer or Open MTP to mount MTP device and access the Garmin folder

You need a Windows system. I have heard that the Android File Transfer App may work on Macs. I have a 2015 Intel Mac and installed Windows on it to move the backdate files to my Fenix.

I am on 18.16 since its release, but wondering about whether to downgrade 16.22 or not.

18.16 is relatively stable, my only fear is that it also crashed during a long hike when I was using the pan/zoom functions.

Unfortunely I have found no one yet who could have compared 16.22 and 18.16. In other words no one confirmed whether 16.22 also included this instability of map scrolling/zooming or not.

So I am still hesitating , I am not sure whether to make  an extra pain for myself with a downgrade. 

EDIT: and the extra benefit of 16.22 would be the getting rid of the audio prompts when navigating or doing pacepro.
