Italy ECG on Fenix 7 Pro but do not start

I live in Italy, and as far as I know, the ECG app hasn't been activated in my country yet. However, to my surprise, the Garmin Connect app prompted me to activate the ECG app on my device. I have no idea how that's possible. The fact is that when I try to take the first measurement and place my index finger and thumb on the metal bezel, nothing happens. I've tried about ten times, but always with the same result.

For me the ecg works much better if I humidify my skin, fingertips and wrist, similar to wearing a HRM strap. Just breathing on it is enough to add some moisture and improve the detection. Have you noticed…

Sometime last week, ECG was enabled on the F7P devices in Europe. I too had issues with the ECG not sensing my fingers on the dial. I tried it over and over with different ways to hold the fingers but it worked only 1 in 20 tries. Eventually it fixed itself after a month or two and now it works every time.

you have to go to an activation procedure in garmin connect. it involves setting up two-factor authorization and reading a few intro pages on what the ecg can and cannot measure. one that's done, it promts you to do the first ecg measurement.
