So is GAP pace and the multitude of other things that were broken in the 20.1x betas fixed in this final release?
I bet no, but maybe someone has a surprise for me?

Well they broke auto connection of external HRM and other devices for a lot of people but decided to release it anyways.. unbelievable.
Looks like this 7th series are doomed. And apparently I will stay forever on 17.28 firmware, at least this release is stable and doesn't crash the watch during various activities. And couple of other things…
Does anyone faces the problem that the watch restarts during an activity, like walking? Also HRM on a treadmill e.g. does not work properly.
I have no auto connection to HRM(polar h10) or concept 2 rowing machine. 7 pro ss
Also it reboots the watch on the jump rope activity. FFS
25 min walking activity 4% battery drain

And couple of other things - DEM calibration is working without the need of phone connection and auto-connect to external hrm also works (tested with Suunto Smart HRM).
be sure to switch off bluetooh before testing (that's the problem for me and others) and please report back if it works for you
Do you run up hills? For me the GAP not working is a big one on a watch made for being in the hills :D
Just a recommandation. Before upgrading, backup your current settings via Garmin connect app. Then, upgrade to 20.16 and reset to factory defaults. everything ! Then restore from the backup. You will see most of the concerns will be fixed. I had lags within the menus. Doing this procedure fixed everything so far.
But does GAP work? I left the beta program and went back to 19.41 because it works there. Now they released it as final and I don't want to lose it again. Or go on a run with my HRM only to realize at the end it never connected.
Thank you for this information. I will try to downgrade my watch and try your steps.
I am sorry, I am not that kind of Pro user :)
Does it work? It's super important to me as I rarely connect my Fenix to a phone...
I’m sorry, no it doesn’t. Moreover Garmin has not yet answered to the ticket after submitting logs so I guess they are still searching a fix. However there’s a temporary workaround. Search the forum or PM me.
