it feels like they've been going downhill since the F8 launch... maybe some change among investors or something? they went from a reliable no hassle quality premium products targeted at adults, to some…
and it worse with each new version ... :-(
Sad news, but some "old emeritus" Beta tester are leaving the program because of the lack of information, feedback and the latest issues with 20.xx that is most…
Honestly, I've been hoping for a long time that Garmin will figure out all the problems. There was Tactix 6, now Tactix 7 Pro, and so I went to Apple Watch Ultra. I didn't even want to upgrade
…it feels like they've been going downhill since the F8 launch... maybe some change among investors or something? they went from a reliable no hassle quality premium products targeted at adults, to some greedy low quality products targeted to "young urban population" just look how they transformed the instinct from a military/outdoors targeted device to some casio gshock copycat targeted at urban fashionistas...
I don't like the fact that this is an anonymous post but I support your message
It's really sad how these guys are working... Battery drain isn't still fixed, software update check gives an error and I see a lot of other bugs...
Why should you test software before you release it? And if there are bugs why fix them asap?
And then complain later that we buy everything from the Chinese... Yeah duh...maybe you should be more customer oriented Garmin!!!!
Thats exactly what im saying. I bet greedy investors are ruining the company. It happened to so many great ccompanies in recent years. Since pushing amoled to every model they are transforming them to lifestyle sht… But investors are happy because with “lifestyle smartwatch” things like amoled, touch screen, mic, speaker etc. they are pulling in so many apple watch users… and that is the biggest part of the cake they want so much. Garmin is losing its ‘soul’, trading it for profit
Its really annoying we get features I doubt anyone asked for like messaging and (terrible) nap detection etc. Meanwhile the battery drain issue carries on for what must be a year+ at this point, and they clearly are not doing any QA with updates like the GPS files. Its like they don't care about their customers at all.

With latest 20.13 Beta there are always report about crash/reboot during during activity, navigating or not, with oi without live track.
And the map is slow, very slow with navigation, and with a truncated top part (blank) with location icon too low on the screen. Some part of the map near the location cursor could be overlap by Turn-by-Turn popup. So navigation is awful with this Beta.
Oh be sure they care about their customers! Garmin milks them best they can. They sell them cheap made F8 with old CPU of F7, saving much money by doing this. No new hardware, sell them the old garbage and tell them how good battery life is with the new shining device!! (Its actually NOT and can't be in any way, but who cares anyway). So making much money is very important, and feeding the influencers on YT also so everyone wants desperately the new, better, battery saving, shiny F8 or Enduro 3. *** and rubbish it is. And Software? Garmin is the worst Software provider I ever saw, really. Thank you Garmin for fooling and cheeting us, thank you!!
International exchanges are broken in the stock widget and have been for months. Spotify Wifi sync won't work over WPA2 enabled connections and haven't for about a year (forcing me and many others to remove encryption just to sync playlists). GPS activities resetting the watch with increasing frequency as each firmware rolls out.
It's wild how we've now got an arguably far worse watch than we had at launch. At least all of those features were working.
Re the CPU and F8 - NXP (the supplier of Garmin's CPUs) didn't have a new SoC out at the point the F8 was developed. The RT500 was perfectly adequate for what was being asked of it (though Garmin probably could have given it 16MB of RAM rather than solely using the 5MB of onboard, but that would have come at the cost of battery which people wouldn't have accepted). The F8 is a worthy of a new model having an Amoled screen, mic and totally revised interface, plus, you don't need to buy it if you feel your F7 was adequate.
I didn't bother with the upgrade as the F7 technically satisfies all of my training and hiking use cases provided the damn features worked as they did at launch. My real worry is that they'll just stop porting fixes to it at the point the next model gets released. The current state of the F7 is absolutely unacceptable.
For what it's worth, I've had no issues with my F7 since I bought it shortly after it was released.
Honestly, I've been hoping for a long time that Garmin will figure out all the problems. There was Tactix 6, now Tactix 7 Pro, and so I went to Apple Watch Ultra. I didn't even want to upgrade to the 8th series. It just wasn't possible to put up with the fact that each update doesn't improve the watch, but breaks the functions. The watch is cool, it was, now it looks like some kind of fake. I hope Garmin will take hold of their heads and fix all the charms that they have done in the latest firmware, and only then will it be possible to consider the option of returning to their products.
