Unexpected activity pause during course navigation in trail running activity?

Auto pause is not on, and I'm sure I didn't actually hit the start/stop button. But a couple of times now I've been running with map screen up navigating a saved course, and I look down and the activity is in the pause screen and has been paused for a little while as if I've pressed the start/stop button- which can be very frustrating as then the gpx track later is wrong, Strava segments are missed, etc. My main question is whether this is a bug or if there is some condition that can cause the activity to pause on its own or through unexpected screen touch(s)? Again, auto-pause is not enabled and I've only seen it happen a couple times.

It is a bug, there are a lot of People with the same problem.

If touch is disabled then how sure are you that the watch has not crashed and returned to the pause screen as has been suggested?

I'm not familiar with the 'crash' behaviour of the watch so maybe? is the behaviour exactly the same as if I've pressed the start/stop button? The watch doesn't reboot or anything. Once I notice it and press start/stop to resume, everything is exactly as I'd expect (still navigating the route, activity continues, saves fine later, etc)

Yes. In general if the watch crashes during an activity it will shutdown then restart to the Resume screen as if start/stop is pressed to pause the activity.

Got it. Then yes this is definitely what is happening. I've created a support case. Obviously a widespread problem.

Also, it definitely seems to be a firmware 19+ problem; is there a way to get older firmware? I've read that it can be done but can't seem to find any links to the 18.xx firmware.
