Lactate threshold test menu doesn't appear.

Hey there,

I tried to run a "Lactate threshold Guided test" but I noticed that the test menu does not appear on my Fenix 7S now. It had always appeared to me in: RUN / Hold MENU / Select Training > Workout Library > Lactate Threshold Guided Test.

I have restored the factory settings, but doesn't work.

This test has been removed. Now the watch detects LT automatically - apparently, because mine hasn't detected anything for over a month, despite the fact that I had many runs during which the new threshold…

for sure difficult to know what's change, when release note do not include it and when manual is not updated and always mention legacr FTP method ... Garmin-Laurie

The auto detect wasn't working for me. It last updated over a month ago and I've been in the middle of a speed block in that time so it should definitely have updated.

This test has been removed. Now the watch detects LT automatically - apparently, because mine hasn't detected anything for over a month, despite the fact that I had many runs during which the new threshold would have been detected in previous software versions. They probably screwed something up again and we have to wait - maybe they'll fix it. If not, go back to 17.28. This is the last software in which the watch worked properly.

After reading your post I realised something was off so I went into the Connect app, then User Profile and under Auto Detection I toggled Threshold off and back on. I also turned Max Heart Rate and FTP on, previously I always had them off because I manually entered a max hr from a race. I synced to the watch when I turned Threshold off and resynced when I turned it back on.

I wear a hr pro strap and my threshold updated after an easy 60 min run this morning. Hopefully this will work for others who have the same problem.

Honestly, I am disappointed with the update policy. I upgraded from Fenix 5 to version seven because there were no improvements, and now they are removing features instead of adding them.

Could you please let me know if there is an official response here or where I can get more information?

I had this option only when GPS was already found, maybe this helps. No idea why this test needs GPS...

I checked and no LTHR test available even if fixed GPS
