I just switched from a Coros Apex 46mm to a Fenix 7X Pro Sapphire Solar. The main reason I switched was for full map functionality. After using the watch for a few runs, there are some critical features I had on the Coros Apex that I'm missing on the Fenix 7X. The Fenix has a ton of functionality, but I'm not loving it so far due to the lack of features my super basic 4 year old Coros Apex had. Any insight would be appreciated. I tried poking around and searching this forum, and was able to fix quite a few issues, but I'm stumped with the below.
Issues I'm having on the Fenix:
1) I imported a GPX file with waypoints from Gaia to Garmin Connect to the Watch. The route displays on the map with the waypoints, but the "up ahead" distances are just 0 and don't display actual distances. Some quick Googling shows this is a year+ old bug? How is that possible?!
2) When I import the GPX files from Gaia to the watch it changes the course name to "*City Name* Running" Why?!?! I want it to show on my watch with the name of the GPX file. What if I have 10 courses in the same city? I need them to be differentiated. I don't want to have to manually change them after I import them into Garmin Connect.
3) Are you able to change the color of the course route on the map to red/purple/orange? Why would they make the route grey and also have trails/roads grey?!
Functionality I have on the Coros Apex but not the Fenix 7X:
1) On the watch, can you zoom in on the elevation profile for an entire course? If I have a 300 mile course I want to be able to zoom in to 1-5 miles. I can't get granular enough with a full 300 miles on a tiny watch face. I don't want just the climb feature for a single ascent, I want to see the elevation profile for the next few miles and multiple ascents. I'm able to do this on the Coros.
2) In the 'up ahead' data field, Is it possible to show the ascent in feet to the next waypoint? My Coros would show distance to next waypoint in addition to elevation gain to next.
3) When my Coros locked during an activity I was also able to scroll through the menus (distance, heart rate, elevation profile, map, etc.) but it would prevent me from stopping/pausing the activity. On the Fenix, I have to unlock the entire watch to scroll through the menus but this allows the ability to accidentally pause/stop the activity.
Many thanks in advance!
