Fenix battery replacement program?

I have a new Fenix 7s Pro. So far, all is good and the battery lasts as expected. The watch does everything I need it to do and I especially like the power-saving MIP display (which is why I didn't go for the F8). I hope I can use this watch for many years to come.

But we all know Li-Ion batteries wear out over time. I don't want to throw the whole watch away after a few years just because the battery is worn, and it looks like the back is screwed on and should allow for battery replacements. I found this vague post on the support site https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=LLgTVPWsPH7tc5v4lwEST9

Has anyone done that?

Assuming the watch is out of warranty by then, what expense, roughly, am I looking at?

How long does Garmin support old watches, i.e. would they replace today a battery for a 10 year-old watch?

Do you have to send your watch somewhere or can some local service shop do it?

Will the watch still be waterproof for swimming afterwards?
