Cadence/power stop working after 8km circa

I'm on 19.34 (fenix 7 pro solar), and from about a month or so, after 45/50 minutes of running or trail runnig, the power data field as well as stride lenght and cadence and everything else connectet to them, suddenly stop recording.

This is a screeenshot from my today run

Is this some kind of bug or am i doing something wrong?

Thank you!

  • Did you use a chest strap? If so, then there was probably a problem with it (low battery, dry electrodes, bad fit, faulty hardware, ...). If it was recorded without an external strap, then I do not know, and did not see a similar case, yet. I do not think it could have been caused by something you did, apart perhaps if you started to run with running poles after the 40 minutes, but even with that, there should be some more data, I believe.

So if it was with a chest strap, try replacing the battery in it (even if the strap still reports the battery OK), wet the electrodes or use a conductive gel the next time, and try tightening it a bit. If it was without a strap, then I recommend reaching out to the Product Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com.

  • Yes i use a rechargable chest strap, tried charghing before the run but nothing changed. I don't think is a communication problem, otherwise my HR wouldn't be recorded (i use a power mode that turns off the watch sensor). Next run i'll try to go without it and see!

  • Yes i use a rechargable chest strap,

Well, if it is not the HRM-Pro or another HRM strap from Garmin supporting the Running Dynamics, then the strap is not the reason. Otherwise, if it were HRM-Pro (or another strap with RD), then it can easily happen that HR is recorded and the RD not - HR can be transmitted both over Bluetooth, as well as over ANT+, while the RD is transmitted only over ANT+, so if the ANT+ drops out, you may still continue getting the HR, and have gaps in the RD.

And besides that, normally (though not in your case, since you disable the OHR), even if the HR from the strap fails to transmit completely, the watch automatically switches to the internal optical sensor, so you won't see any gaps in the HR.

    Which model is this?
