Feedback: Garmin Fenix 7 Pro 19.34 / GameOn does not connect

2024-11-17: GameOn does not work.

We all know by now the problem with Garmin GameOn not connecting to the watch. There are several workarounds known, but none of them have anything to do with how the feature is supposed to work.

The description of the feature clearly states:

Start GameOn on the PC, start the gaming activity on the watch, select the watch in GameOn, pair the watch with the GameOn app, start playing.

That's exactly what's not working. I'm now going to open a new post for every new firmware version I get on the watch to document how long this specific feature hasn't worked properly. I'm not here to provide support or find a solution, I'm here to make Garmin aware that there is an unresolved issue on the Fenix 7 and Epix Gen 2 that has been going on for at least a year.

Just to show you how long this has been going on, do you really think there wouldn't have been endless correspondence between the support team and the community? Garmin doesn't give a *** about this. Otherwise…

Then the best thing to do is to contact Garmin Support directly.

Especially when it’s been ongoing for so long. Hopefully Garmin takes notice and addresses the issue soon. The workarounds might help temporarily, but it would be great to see a proper downlaod honista fix for GameOn’s connectivity.

i consider this to be a dead "feature". i built a desktop pc 2 years ago and i couldn't get it working then, and i bought a gaming laptop this year (2024) and cannot get it working there either. the workarounds are VERY temporary, as in you can make it work exactly one time (maybe...) and then it won't connect again. i have pretty expansive pc knowledge and know for 100% certain that it's not the gaming rig's fault, it's a problem on garmin's end (or possibly that overwolf app) and it doesn't have anything to do with the current or any recent firmware, it's never worked on fenix/tactix despite garmin insists both are supported. either way, i've taken a hint from garmin and have completely given up on gameon. it's a shame because as a gamer and fenix 7 owner this would be pretty damned useful for me
