Decided on Fenix 7pro over Fenix 8

The speaker and microphone are not game changers for me hardware wise. Plus, the dive feature is something I’ll never use. The new UI isn’t a must have.

I think I’m going to save a few dollars and go for Fenix 7 pro. Hopefully, there will be some good buys on Black Friday. I’ve heard there may also be some Garmin devices on the REI Gear Up and Get Out sale.

Good advice, read both forums.

There are many differences, to name just one; AMOLED and MIP displays both have their strengths and weaknesses, you have to find the best fit for your use cases. Some find that MIP+Solar+Sapphire is dim and very reflective.

Maybe also consider a Forerunner, very similar functionality in an arguably blander package, but for a better price. There is no Forerunner 51mm though.

If you will not use it for swimming and surfing, smart decision.

Fenix 8 is very minor upgrade compared to Fenix 7 Pro and Epix Pro.

Not a bad decision at all, but if you were thinking about the 51mm version (7 pro X), I'd look more at the enduro 3 too
