Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar GPS is broken

I bought a Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar back in June 2024 and it all worked perfectly until the end of Sep - Begin of October. All of a sudden all my outdoor activities (walking and running) are not showing the Map and weather of the activity anymore. I haven't changed anything in the settings. Plus I also noticed the gps signal has been dropping in the middle of the run and my pace goes to 0 for several seconds then get back to normal. I recently did exactly the same run, same start and finish point twice in 2 days in a row, and the second day when the GPS signal was dropping I had to run a good extras 500m until the half mark to turn around. 

I just tried to sync the time with GPS and I have been waiting for 10 minutes and the red bar hasn't moved ! I assume it's all a GPS reception issue.

I'd really appreciate if someone could help me,

    First of all, I would hard-reset the watch - sync, then press the Light button for some 30s till it completely shuts down (hold the button through the emergency alert, if it comes), wait little bit, and then restart. No worry, no data or settings will be lost with it. [more details]. Then start the watch and connect it over the USB cable to a computer with Garmin Express, delete the CPE file in the folder //GARMIN/RemoteSW/ on the watch, and then check for updates in Garmin Express. 

    If it does not help, the next step would be the master reset to factory defaults. And if still not better, then I recommend reaching out to the Product Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com.

    Go to Settings, System, About and see what GPS version you have. If it is 0.0, try reloading the software by pressing top left about 8 times while there and select the option to reinstall the software. If that doesn’t fix it contact Garmin Support

    Yeph! Spot on.  It’s showing 0.0! What does it supposed to say?

    it should have a version number. Perhaps try reloading the software and see if that works.

    My Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire Solar (software rev. 18.16) shows "GPS: 10.01". In the past I read at least one post (of a Fenix 6 user) complaining about the latest software update causing the GPS revision to be reset to "0.00", virtually deactivating the GPS system. I do hope you can resolve your problem - please share if and how you fixed it. 

    Does anybody know what is exactly the GPS revision listed in the system data? Is is the firmware revision of the GPS chipset? Does the "0.00" revision mean that no GPS chipset firmware is installed?

    0.00 after a component always indicate an issue, software not installed successfully or hardware defect.

    I had the same thing happening to mine. I contacted garmin and they are sending me a new one or a certified watch. Mind you I only had it for a little over a year. Mind blowing for as much as we pay for this.
