Feature request: Treadmill incline option

Hi all,
I am a mountain and trail runner living in the beautiful alps and training with my Fenix 7X. Sometimes I have to travel for work and to not lose too much training, I run on treadmills with strong incline (usually above 6%).

I think the garmin activity should include the option of setting the incline correctly. Both to track the training itself but also to estimate uphill effort.

I also noticed that when calibrating the treadmill on the watch, this calibration works only for a specific incline. Meaning every change in % would require a different calibration. This makes sense to me because the stride length changes and the watch might struggle in following the change. With the HRM-pro this is mitigated but not completely.

Please Garmin: include a incline setting at the activity start or a calibration of incline at the end.

  • Agree with this 100%

I frequently use the incline feature between 3-8% but have no meaningful way to track it, thus I make up my own calculations that cannot possibly be accurate. I’ve searched around online and currently there’s no way to make it work properly. I own several Garmin watches and I would absolutely love this feature.

  • it would be better if they could figure out how to integrate it into garmin running dynamics. firstbeat HAS to have a ton of data on stride lengths and contact time as it relates to grade. it would require some heavy lifting but i don't see any reason why it can't be done as it's almost 2025 for crying out loud
