garmin coach strength training plan for fenix 7

Hello, I saw a coached strength training plan for Fenix 8 on Garmin's Instagram account. I am a Fenix 7 user. Right now there is only a coach training plan for running and cycling. I wonder if Fenix 7 will get this with an update?

I leave the link of the share below.

  • To our current knowledge, we cannot not expected that Garmin will bring any Fenix 8 features to the Fenix 7.

  • Is it possible to request this feature? I believe it would be highly beneficial to have it available on the Fenix 7, and adding it wouldn’t significantly reduce the distinction between the Fenix 7 and Fenix 8.

  • I think that won't happen

They wanted to put something extra in fenix 8 to sell more

  • Of course it’s possible to request it, just email Garmin and ask, but let’s be honest, when they decided the spec sheet for the Fenix 8, they would have had this very conversation, and with the technology iterations year on year becoming less, making an upgrade less compelling, they need to make the newer watches shine more.. Garmin view, or rather the share holders view is existing customers be damned, if you want strength training plans, buy a new watch.

  • Well, I have recently splurged on Garmin Fenix 7, Edge 840, a cadence sensor and HRM Plus Pro. One of the primary reasons I went all in was that Garmin has been good pushing new features to the devices that can support them and they don't charge a subscription for their ecosystem. My goal is to stay on top of my fitness through structured workout plans that adjust based on my vitals and load, i. e. Garmin Coach programs. There is no chance in *** I am buying Fenix 8 any time soon - I have yet to buy a power meter and my budget is limited as I have a family to feed. IMHO, Garmin will get more loyal customers by pushing the Strength Coach to the earlier models that can support it and the satisfied customers will eventually upgrade their devices down the road. Not only that, the clients will also hook up more people if they are satisfied with the products and the long-term support. This is how companies get returning customers and expand their customer base.

  • Hey, I get it, im very much in the same boat as you (and most people on this Fenix 7 forum) - I purchased the Fenix 7 pro only a few months back, gambling that there would be relevant updates for a year or two yet (like there was on my F6), and accepting I might miss the fanciest new feature, but I dont write the rules, or have any influence with Garmin, im just a customer. Anyway, I might have to take back what I said if the latest article on The 5K Runner is true - he has a great track record, and good sources, so your wish may come true!

"Tech reviewers, including DCRainmaker, have noted that several user interface (UI) changes introduced in the latest Garmin watches—Fenix 8, Enduro 3, and Fenix E—will not be available for older models. However, new functional features, like the Strength Coach, accessed via Garmin Connect, are expected to roll out to a broader range of devices."

  • Now, this is a great news! Thank you for the link! Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

  • Great news! But, thinking about it, it would make a lot of sense for this feature to be available on the Fenix 7, especially considering that Strength Coach is offered on models like the Venu 3. When comparing the two, the Fenix 7 should certainly include it as well.

  • Is there any news here? I purchased my Fenix 7 just last August! There is no way I'm getting 8 now just for this, I think i deserve upgrades for what I paid!

  • There is no way I'm getting 8

You shouldn't any AI assistant can create you a training plan for free (and use the equipment you have). That Garmin thing probably isn't that good.
