  • Hello

I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. For the HR not reading, I would recommend some initial steps:

    • Is the HR set to Auto in the watch menu? Menu, Sensors and Access, Wrist HR, Ensure this is set to Auto. You can also toggle this off then on again.
    • If this is not reading, or no HR lights lighting on the back, I would recommend a hard reset. For this, hold the Light button until the watch shuts off, as opposed to selecting power off. Then power this on again.
    • If the issue continues, I would recommend checking the watch menu for the HR software versions: Menu, System, About, Scroll down. What are the following versions:
      • Sensor Hub
      • BMX
      • WHR

If any of these are showing 0.00, the sensor software is missing. You can try reinstalling this using Garmin Express. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/software/express/windows/

    1. Install and launch Express
    2. Connect the watch
    3. Add the device
    4. Click on Content and Tools
    5. Select the Utilities tab
    6. Select Additional Software
    7. If any sensor software is showing, select to install this
    8. Disconnect from the computer
    9. And install any software update prompts

If there is no change, I would also recommend trying a factory reset using the steps below, and try the steps with Express again.

    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      • You may need to hold LIGHTfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Press and hold BACK and START/STOP.
    3. Press LIGHT to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
    4. After the first beep release START/STOP.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining button.

If this continues, I would recommend you can contact Garmin Support as the watch will likely need to be replaced.

  • Thabks for the support unfortunately neither of the steps worked, I just talked to another person with the fénix 7X and had same issue after 18.14 firmware release, how can I roll back to previous software version until Garmin create a fix of current version. Also where can I report this release issue?
