Sleep score 18.14

Hi, yesterday I updated the software version to 18.14 and had the lowest sleep score ever.

Are there any known bugs? Did they change anything on the sleep measurement?

  • Mine looks normal, but I did a reboot after an activity yesterday due battery drain... maybe something that kills the battery also killed your sleep?!

If that's not the reason, bad sleep (also lower HRV and higher stress) can also be a sign for the beginning of an infection?!

  • The latest update, 18+ dropped my sleep and hrv to the bottom. I did sustain an injury but I'm ok and at home recovering and paused the activities as is the ankle and although I can't run, I do upper body strength and spinning so ...

It's like with the nap, when it came out it was all wrong then they've changed something and now it reads naps right.

See the print screen, the first unmeasured night was Garmin not measuring after the update, then restarting the watch it did. Next one is me leaving it off for the night to rechar

    ge.

  • Same problem, training is the same, no illnes nothing change and hrv totaly off. Never happed in 2 years

  • Same here...already postet.in endurance score drop thread as everything is linked to HR and HRV...

  • Does somebody know when is the new update of software ?

  • Hello, I am sorry to hear the sleep tracking is not working as expected. If you have not tried a hard reset. I would still recommend trying this. For this, hold the Light button until the watch shuts off, as opposed to selecting power off. Then power this on again.

In case this does not resolve, please feel free to reach out to me via Private Message.

  • Hi. Thank you but I did it, not once in fact.

And it's actually getting even worse. I sleep as always and the hrv went as low as it gets!? Down to 48... I think it might be the palpitations, I have an irregular heart rate, all fine medically but irregular ( not AF) and there is periods in a year, no reason why, just goes a little more irregular. In that case the watch as it doesn't probably take the rate by one beat to the other, but 10 seconds or more average, thinks that my pulse is higher then usual. Lately the resting HR is 6-8 beats higher on average.

Whatever was done to adjust the unrealistic detections of naps(which was absolutely silly) is now affecting the sleep. The naps are now spot on and the sleep gone haywire...

Problem here is that the "poor sleep" affects all the sport readiness etc.

I think there might be a solution.

If you guys reverse this correction to the previous one and give the option to delete the nap would solve it.

I am 100% pro for the option to delete the nap completely as I now if I am doing something like reading, take the watch off to avoid that non existent nap.

I have tested it all with my other smart watch on the other wrist which gives me the same reading as always, sleep score from 75-90 on average and pulse the lowest resting of 50 or less, as before

Also, the latest update messed up the Bluetooth strength. Now it disconnects as soon as the phone gets behind a corner, 3-5 feet away.

Same phone, same all, the only difference is the new Garmin update.

    Cheers

    Maya

  • Update November 22, 2024:

Our engineers were investigating reports of Sleep tracking not recording, even when HR and movement is recording throughout the night. They have indicated that this should now be resolved with the latest SW version 19.34. So if you have not already, you can install this update using Garmin Express.

Large amounts of movement throughout the night, high levels of stress, gaps in your HR recording, and inaccurate sleep times set can still negatively impact sleep tracking.
