Quatix 7 17.28 not connecting to garmin connect iOS app

I have tried rebooting, restarting and resetting my phone, the garmin connect app and my watch multiple times.

Through Garmin Express I can connect my watch to my garmin account, which then shows up in my connect app, but then when given the option to connect the two devices, the watch is 'initializing' and the phone cannot see the device.

I have also tried downloading the connect app on another phone and trying to connect the watch there, which was also unsuccessful, leading me to suspect that the watch may have an issue with the latest software.

Any ideas as to what could be the issue/ how it can be resolved?

    I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with pairing the watch with the phone. You mentioned resetting the phone, however I wanted to confirm whether you meant factory reset the phone? If not, I would first recommend trying these steps: 

    1. Uninstall the Connect Mobile app
    2. Clear the phone cache and history
    3. Ensure the watch does not appear in the phone's Bluetooth menu. If it is, please remove the device
    4. Powercycle the watch and phone. To do this, hold the Light button until this shuts off. Then power on again
    5. Reinstall the Connect Mobile app
    6. Try the pairing again ( Be sure there are no other Bluetooth enabled device nearby)

    Then try the pairing again. If there is no change, it is possible the Bluetooth software in the watch was impacted. So I would recommend reinstalling the SW with these steps: 

    1. Hold the menu button
    2. Select System
    3. Select About
    4. Press the top left Light Button 8 times
    5. Scroll down and select the option to reinstall the software

    Since you have already tried resetting the watch, if there is no change, the device may need to be replaced. For this, you will want to contact Garmin Product support.

  • I got the same issue with my Fenix 7, unable to connect after upgraded to 17.28. Tried everything including reinstall the software, still not working, quite disappointed to be honest.
