Feature Request: Disable Sleep Schedule

I can see the question has been asked but still seems to be an irritation with users.

I want to disable sleep schedule, not sleep mode, sleep schedule.

Shift worker, every day different, sometime schedule changes as the day progresses. 

I want to be able to manually activate sleep mode when I get into bed and deactivate when I wake. I know I can do this and I do, however sometimes at night if I get delayed, the sleep schedule takes over, changes the watch face and even if you deactivate it manually, 15 mins later its back in sleep mode again. V annoying.

Please add a feature where you can disable sleep schedule!!!

  • I know what you mean. You want to switch off the times that you have to enter for each day because your times are constantly changing as a shift worker.
    I also didn't understand why you have to enter sleep times! For me it was 10.00 pm to 5.00 am and I got on with it. But you can't switch this off, you can't even leave the fields blank.

    To the other replies: I know that the watch detects sleep itself, I know sleep mode does not affect this, I know sleep mode does not start the tracking.

    As the reply above states, I want to switch off the feature where I enter times for sleep mode. I don't want to enter times at all, just let me do it myself when I need to!

  • First option.
    Set sleep time for one minute.
    Second, in sleep time settings set, do not change any watch behaviors.
    Sleep time settings are to change your watch behavior during time you suppose to sleep to not disturb you.
    You have whole set of settings you could set which will apply during time you set as sleep, but you always have option to just leave it the same like for rest of the day.

  • I agree, it's a very crappy part of the software, it would be nice to get it fixed

  • Thats not a solution, garmin just needs to allow to turn off the sleeping schedule and then the user can manually turn on sleeping mode. Also there are some bugs. 1. When turning on manual sleeping mode after 4 hours or so it turns off by itself... 2. The watch face changes even when i turn it off in setting. So garmin just needs too WAKE UP and fix this.

  • It is not possible, although it has been requested by users. I fully support idea that sleep schedule should be optional, and that sleep tracking should work adequately without sleep shedule.

  • And sleep tracking works without sleep schedule.
    Sleep tracking is as Garmin describe it to change your watch behave during your typical sleep time to minimize your distraction.

    In my opinion, majority of complaining people just don't understand intention of this function.

  • Whenever someone asks about inaccurate sleep tracking, he gets reply to set sleep schedule. Now you are saying it has nothing to do with sleep tracking. No wonder people are confused about sleep schedule. 

    The main point of the OP is that he wants to be able to "manually activate sleep mode when I get into bed and deactivate when I wake" because the watch does not track his sleep properly. 

  • OK, than we need go to basics.
    As I wrote Sleep mode only changes how your watch behave (watch face, do not disturb and other settings you will set) and it doesn't mean your watch will automatically start count this as sleep time.
    Watch uses other metrics to register time as sleep, for sure level of your movement, your heart rate, don't know what else.
    As example:
    My sleep time is set from 23:30 to 6:30, yesterday I go to bed before 11PM, read a little and go to sleep, today morning I have my sleep registered since 22:55 and ended 7:00 which is definitely out of sleep window I set on my watch.
