Display settings - Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire

Go to settings, system, display, general use or activity and turn off auto backlight. This is DC Rainmaker to refer to and the backlight it's gonna be better. 

I know what he is refering to, but somebody says it is better and somebody its not. So.....

I have a 7 Solar Sapphire non-pro which may have a less-well readable display than a 7XPro. My settings: for normal use, a digital white background watchface with only black foreground text, backlight (10%) activated by button presses (add touch and/or gesture if you use those) for 8 seconds. Most widgets have black backgrounds on which some colors are low contrast and backlight indoors helps a lot. For activities that have dark accent colors I changed them to lighter ones so they are clearer in the list and history. For outoor activities I added custom data screens with 1 or 2 fields to only show what is most important for me. 

Now I am trying to use backlight always on. Do you think it makes sense? As my watches are on handlebar when cycling, I dont see any reason to have it off after few seconds, right?

Solar ring cannot be turned off. Fenix 7 pro has improved display clarity compared to fenix 7 but still worse quality than fenix 6.

It does drain the battery quicker, but not a so much that I notice if I have it on for an hour each day.

I never tried always on, but I think you will notice that in battery usage.

Does it work for you, backlight always on?
