Go to saved location open water swimming

Hi, 

after starting Open water swimming Swimmer activity >> long press “UP MENU” there was Navigation>>Go To>>Saved locations option. 

I can not find currently the option to navigate to saved location during open water swim. I’m sure it is somewhere there in the open water swimming sub options, could someone help?


@Offtopic It was very handy for guiding you on long swims(3-5km) in certain direction in the open water to location(finish), since one tends to drift away from the shortest line between start and finish point while swimming. For example the shortest line on this example swim was theoretically 4,5km, the real swim took 5,3km.. so you see a really handy option that I had in 6s but miss in 7.. Disappointed

    It looks like navigation was removed from open water swim, for whatever reason (I seem to recall this coming up in the forums before.) (I see the same thing on my forerunner 955)

    One workaround could be to start a Run activity, select a course/location to navigate to, and select Change Sport to switch to Open Water. The downside is that you still won't be able to select a 2nd location to navigate to unless you switch back to Run (or some other sport that supports navigation). This seems to work on 955 (at least in theory - I didn't actually try swimming and navigating irl, I just made sure that the navigation data pages still existed after switching to open water.)

    You could always contact product support and ask them whether navigation can be added back to open water swim (https://support.garmin.com/ or [email protected])
