start button behavior

Unlikely it is different on the 7xss than my 7xsolar but there is no hot key for a standard press of the start key. It needs to be a long press or in combination with another key. There is Recent Apps hot key option but this would imply you are long pressing the key or you have a key issue (sticking).  Check your hot key settings to narrow this down. Settings -System-Hot Keys

i know about the long press - works flawlessly and i've got a hotkey set for recent apps... that means my watch has got a bad behavior when pressing the start button while the watchface is shown... how/where can i report that?

It should open the favourite sports profiles when you press the start button. Maybe you don't have favourites set? 

would (shoud) favourites change the behavior?? I don't think so. anyways, i've got 4 favourites... just mailed the support about this. maybe it's just my watch as i seem to be the only one with this behavior

I don't know what the intended behaviour is when there are no favourites set, that's why I asked. 

Let us know what support replies. If possible, write them via chat tomorrow, they are often take ages to reply to emails. 

Not shure if i remember that correctly, but i think i had that behaviour when i exited activities with a "back to watchface" hotkey i had configured. Someone explained to me this is expected behaviour - it made sense but i cant remember why.

i dismissed that hotkey and now use "recent apps -> up"  to quickly go back to the watchface.

It's a feature. The logic being that most people want to continuously open the same app. E.g if they're running every day. Throwing them to the top of a long list of apps would just annoy people.

This thread is not about jumping to the last activity app (preselecting it in the list of activities). The strange behaviour is that the activity app seems to be launched automatically for op, so that a back button press is required to go back to the activity list. 

Well, it opens the list of favourites and the cursor sits at the last selection. That is the wisest guess, otherwise, it would be any other in the list and you would likely have to scroll. Unless, every time you choose the first item....
