Fenix 7 pro ss solar intensity not working

My Fenix 7 pro ss stared showing lower and lower Solar intensity readings and eventually now it doesn’t show anything at all, no lines nothing, just —-. Not that I use it much but since I paid for the feature…anyone has a solution? I haven’t tried a reset as I’m hoping there’s a solution before I lose all my settings and/or have to take it to service centre. 

  • I have this same thing. I have a F7XSS and the solar is working, but the graph/chart in the glance has no lines on it.  It gives my solar Lux hours in numbers, but no graph.  It is frustrating….not a big deal, but frustrating a bit. 

  • I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the Solar charging. For this, I would initially recommend trying the following steps: 

    • Be sure the watch is on the latest software version 17.23 using Garmin Express. 
    • If you are using a screen protector, you will need to remove this. 
    • Be sure the watch charge is drained more than 5-10%. When fully charged, solar charging is disabled.
    • To test the solar charging, you will want to be outdoors in bright and direct sunlight. Indoor lighting will not have the same lux charging effect.
    • Place the watch in battery save mode, and allow this to charge for a few hours. Are you then able to see a solar charge in the graph? 

    If there is no change, I would recommend completing a hard reset. For this, hold the Light button until the watch shuts off, as opposed to selecting power off. Then power this on again.

  • Well, I've done all these things except a hard reset - and my solar chart/glance still doesn't work. I'm hesitating to hard reset the watch because I lose so much data and info. Is an update going to fix this?
