Fenix 7s Pro Sapphire Screen Protector

Saphire glas is very hard, I would not recommend to add a screen protector because I think it is not necessary. 

I have read 1000 posts related to sctraches due to the coating layer it has on top, so would like to prevent it but can’t find a good option with revies

what about the scratches everyone complains in the water coating? How to prevent that?

Why do you need a screen protector when you have the Sapphire? Isn't that like heavy duty glass?

Is not the glass the problem but the coating it has on top. Seen several posts of  scratches 

Its not common at all. Ive had several Sapphire watches and they're still pristine.

And as Laurie said, the screen protector adhesive itself will damage the coating.

I would not say it is uncommon for the Fenix Saphire glas screen to get scratches. A lot of reports are popping up at leas since the fenix 6 era. I have a scratch on my saphire glas (or coating, whoknows) as well. But the scratches you get are not impairing the usage in any way. They are so faint that you need the right angle to see them. Also the bezel will get scratches. It is an outdoor adveture watch, I don't really care too much, it shows that I use it . 

Even after getting a scratch on my saphire glas, I still think a screen protector is not necessary, since the scratch does not at all limit the visibility. If I had a screen protector on, I would not change it just for that faint scratch, so I would be in the same situation as without one.
