Naps on garmin fenix 7 pro

I recently bought my first ever smart watch a fenix 7 pro. I just had a poor night of sleep and my training readiness and body battery was poor. Decided to go for a nap. Ended up on 2hr. But my watch didnt recognize the nap and my tr and bb was exactly the same. Do you need to automatically start the nap function? What happens if you fall asleep without starting nap? I would think that would mess up the training readiness for some time? I also had a morning where i slept for 6 hrs opend my morning report but i was sick that day so i went to bed for another 5 and on my sleep history garmin only added that last 5 hrs.

  • No you dont need to manually start the nap feature as the watch is able to automatically pick up naps - but you can do. However on this forum and reddit LOTS of people have  mixed results with the new nap tracking feature. For some it works perfectly every time and for others it never picks it up. My bold guess would be since you didnt charge body battery on a 2 hour nap your stress levels hasnt been in the blue zone (rest)- as a result of that the watch didnt think you were sleeping since it relies on HR, stress, HRV and movement.
