My Workouts are not syncing to Fenix 7

Hi,

I've tried syncing with the app, deleting workouts, changing names, connecting via a computer rather than bluetooth from my phone. Nothing is working to sync 'my workouts' to my watch.  It used to work and then once and a while not, but now nothing at all.  Any ideas?

  • Hello, this is to add reporting on the subject.

I believe my issues started after the update to software v. 16.22.

I've tried to either update the workout details (just pace targets) from the garmin connect application, or through the watch (7 sapphire solar) and all I got was the message "Exceeded maximum number of workouts. Some workouts not imported." displayed on the watch screen.

Then I've deleted some of the (<20) workouts, available on the watch already - but I still got no synchronization of workouts working on.

Considering the vast amount of free memory available on the watch, I simply refuse to believe that it is NOT a software bug, related to software version 16.22, so let's hope for an update that should fix things up soon.

  • Updating existing workouts started even earlier.

  • I think I tend to agree with you.  I rang Garmin and they could not fix the problem.  They've sent diagnostics away so I'll see what comes back.

I have other friends who now use the training calendar instead, since sycning custom workouts isn't working.  Custom workouts seem to sync if you add it to the training calendar.

  • I had the same problem with editing existing workouts.  See my reply above with regards using the training calendar instead of syncing to 'my workouts'

  • Hello

I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble syncing the workouts to the watch. Initially I would recommend trying the following steps:

    • Delete the workouts saved in the watch menu (as opposed to workouts saved to the app). Then try sending the workouts to the watch again.
      • You can delete the workouts from the watch through the watch menu:
        1. Press Start
        2. Select an activity
        3. Hold the menu button
        4. Select Training
        5. Select Workout Library
        6. Delete workouts from this menu
      • You can also delete workouts while connected to a Windows computer:
        1. Connect to a computer
        2. Open the watch drive
        3. Open the Garmin folder
        4. Locate and open the Workouts folder
        5. Delete the contents
    • When you are sending a workout to the watch, ensure when you try locate this in the watch to select the activity that matches the workout type. For example: If you create a Run workout, look for this in the Run activity on the watch. If you create a Custom workout, you will need to create a Custom workout on the watch.
    • If you have not already, I would also recommend trying a hard reset on the watch. For this, hold the light button until the watch shuts off, as opposed to selecting power off. Then power this on again.
  • Then I've deleted some of the (<20) workouts, available on the watch already - but I still got no synchronization of workouts working on.

You mention deleting some of the workouts. It may beneficial to delete all workouts in the workouts folder of the watch. Then try the hard reset on the watch. Then try syncing the workouts again.
