tactix 7 AMOLED freezes with 16.22 update

Hello,

so the story is as follows, after 16.22 I had few glitches during run activity, for example I saw 4 small watch faces side by side when display turned on when I turned my wrist, also stage 3.2.1 countdown and requirements like desired HR or pace disappeared during run activity, only beeping left, so this version was already sus to me,

but now its the whole another level, I was training almost daily as long as I had this watch without any problems (I bought it in sept 2023) except those after 16.22 update, last week I had to pause my training, I had small injury around 10 days ago, today I wanted to resumed my training, so I entered run app, and watch freezed, I've restarted it, went to garmin connect to unpause training, then I tried again, then it freeze again... restarted it and I did reset to default, after it, I restored my backup, no luck, freeze again, then I did reset to defaults with data removal, and without backup restore, and watch freezes if I enter app menu with start button, then sometimes restarts by itself, sometimes stops responding and I have to reset it manually. watch also freezes when I enter settings>sensors & accessories.

the only thing from before reset I have is pairing with garmin connect, so maybe I have invalid data associated with my account? is it possible?

long story short, watch is synched and connected to my phone and I cannot enter run app it freezes immediately, also freezes when I scroll with up or down buttons. the watch is unusable now.

dear Garmin what should I do?

UPDATE 4/16/2024: I have not changed anything major on my watch, just visual settings, after last night, everything works, entering run activity does not freeze it as well as entering settings>sensors&acc. looks like after unpausing training the day before, watch initialized something correctly in its memory next day?

UPDATE4/20/2024: this is quite unexpected, freeze happens only near my apartment, 2 floors below, watch works fine, if I go outside no problem I can do over hour run without any freezes, if I open run activity or sessors&acc 2 floors below my apartment and then go up the staircase around half a floor, then it freezes in 1-15 sec, I've tested it now over I think 20 times, now question is, is my apartment or my neighbours? :) stay tuned :)

  • dear Garmin what should I do?

Contact Garmin Support in your area.

  • did this already, I got the response, wait for the next update, but I dont want to wait 3 months for 17.xx to correct this issue. I hope we get 16.23 with a fix

maybe someone has solution to this issue. its strange, because all I did is I stopped training for 10 days, during this time I dont think I installed any apps or changes settings other than I paused my training.

as I've mentioned looks like to me this freeze is related to accessing sensors, freeze occurs when I enter settings>sensors&acc and its repeatable.

is there any way to enable some debug logging or put watch is a trace mode on production firmware? I've checked developer menu, but nothing caught my attention there.

there is one option called reinstall software, but I dont know that it does :) anyone does? and I'm not in a YOLO mood currently to try it blindly.

there is also option for record log, but I dont think it produced any files, it freezes few seconds after I start an activity. after restart I had to quickly discard the activity, because without it I would end up in a freeze loop, because after restart activity opens...

it freezes also when I disconnect a USB cable.

are there any other locations than GARMIN/DEBUGI should check? GARMIN\EVNTLOGS looked promising but then errors there are related to updates... dont know why...
