Bluetooth disconnects

Hi all

i have just upgraded from a Garmin instinct solar to a Garmin Fenix 7 X solar and every time I’m more than 20 feet away from my phone. My watch disconnects from Bluetooth on my iPhone 12.
I have the latest Garmin connect app installed and never had this problem with my instinct.

For over 650 quid this shouldn’t be happening surely there’s a fix Garmin

I’ve disconnected my watch from my phone I’ve deleted Garmin connect and restarted my phone and re installed Garmin connect. Everything that’s recommended I’ve done and it still happens makes me want to send it back any ideas please

I have the same issue with my Fenix 7 Pro Solar as well, tried all the recommended troubleshooting, removed the watch from connect, restart several times both devices with no success, I even can't get the watch seen by the phone anymore, I strongly believe there is an issue with the watch Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and not with the iPhone as I tried with Samsung phone as well with the issue persisting.

I can only connect it via Garmin express so far through my laptop only.

I am about to return it back to the dealer.

This is frustrating.

I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. For this, there are a few troubleshooting steps we recommend trying:

Ensure the phone OS is on the latest version
Ensure the Connect app is updated to the latest version 5.0
Try changing this setting in the watch to Amplify the Bluetooth:
1. Hold the menu button
2. Select Connectivity
3. Select Phone.
4. Repeatedly press your top left button. (It will be about 5 times.) A hidden menu will then appear.
5. Toggle the Maximize Connectivity menu to On.
6. Open your Connect Mobile App and manually sync your watch

I have reviewed this one, however this seems to be impacting lagging and slowness in the Bluetooth sync, as opposed to disconnect and reconnect. So I would say that these are not likely connected. However with this reported to the BETA but reporting thread, if you are not running a BETA software, and are still seeing a slowness or lag in sycning, this is something we would like to get reported. It would be good to create a regular forums thread discussing this issue as well, so non-BETA users can added their similar experiences.
