On a Fenix 7S S/W version 16.22, I get 2 new records set (1k & 1 mile) screen appear after every run it seems, even though they are not new time records. Does anyone else have the same issue or know the cause?

Did you accept the records in Garmin Connect?
As long as you do not accept the new record, each time you reach the same weight (or time, or distance), it will be detected as a new record again (since the original one was not accepted).
Better told…
I guess I should’ve included that I accepted the original record and that every following record with the same weight was ignored.
If I understand you well, then that's the expected behavior…
I had a new record with Strength (Barbell Squat). Then I did a session with the exact same weight and it registered as a new record again.
Same with segments when cycling, just another bug.

Not me. I didn’t since it was the same weight.

Better told, each time the performance is better than the last accepted record, a new record is detected. So if you have no accepted record at all yet, every qualifying performance is detected as a record.
Go to https://connect.garmin.com/modern/personal-records and accept or reject the pending records there.
I guess I should’ve included that I accepted the original record and that every following record with the same weight was ignored. Why say that it’s a new record when there’s already a record exactly the same?
If it were a custom weight that was set in Connect I would understand. Everytime I finish a session the weight includes 0.1 in the total weight—which I then round. But these repeating records I get are added manually after editing session through Mobile app.

If I understand you well, then that's the expected behavior. If it was the same weight, then it was not a new Personal Record. For a new PR to be detected, you must lift bigger weight (or run/ride/swim faster or farther) than what was recorded at the last accepted PR.
Correct! So why is the watch/app behaving that way?
Trying to replicate it for screenshots… I”ll edit this comment if I was succesful or not.

I do not have much experience with strength records, but I doubt that the weight edited post-workout in GC can be detected as record, since the records are being detected by the watch, not by the app. However, you can always edit the PR in Garmin Connect, and then send it back to the device, in order to allow it to detect the next record automatically.
Will pay attention to this during next session and reply here if I catch it. During today’s test I was not able to replicate this.

Thanks for the tip!
