Had an issue today where the track me shows up fine but the activity didn't record data correctly

That will expire in 24 hours..

But on the watch the activity looks like it only logged the first three minutes and the final point 

I have not seen this before and am kind of annoyed that this has happened on my holiday!

Has anyone seen this before.. and is there somewhere to download the GPS data from the live track (before it is removed)?
