When Fenix 8 is being released?
When Fenix 8 is being released?
I don't really care for the release date. What I mostly care of is to have MIP display if possible better than the one 7 series currently has. If they won't keep the MIP display with these nice stock watch…
The only thing a silicone plug helps with is speeding up the corrosion process which would have never started otherwise. Think of it as sand, dust and moisture trap :) never, under any circumstances use…
Wouldn't be surprised if it gets Amoled, it seems to be the direction Garmin is taking with their watches. As nice as the Amoled screens can be there are times when I'd still prefer a MIP screen, especially…
And this is your problem?
Yes, this is my problem. I often hike in the back country where I'll need a watch to operate off battery for days. A loss of 10-20% of the batteries capacity due to the connector displacing internal volume is an poor engineering choice in my opinion. Plus you've got an increased likelihood of debris clogging the port and preventing charging on trail. I'm able to polish up the terminals on the current port with a tshirt whereas I couldn't do that with USB-C. So yeah, not for me and not fit for an adventure watch in my opinion.
One and a half meters under water is diving, not swimming
Nah if you read Samsung's spec, it says 1.5m static. E.g. not splashing around. I'll post it here for your convenience.
This is for your phone, from: www.samsung.com/.../
So yah, you can drop it into a body of water by accident, but you don't want to be moving through it. Either way, the spec once more isn't suited to an adventure watch. I wouldn't be canyoning with such a product.
Venu 3 has usb c and is basically the same size as Venu 2 with Garmin plug and has better battery life than the Venu 2.
One and a half meters under water is diving, not swimming.
It is APNEA, Diving is 10, 15, 30 meters and I did with my Fenix 7 dives at 18 meters.
Regarding:
4 small pins that after 3 years of use are covered with prune is the problem
Take a cotton bud, some alcohol and clean it.
I was using Fenix 3 almost 4 years, never had problem with connector, Fenix 6 (two years, again, no problems), Fenix 7 (two years, no problem), now have Descent MK3i, no problems so far, just got new FW, based on Fenix 7 16.22.
I'd use isopropyl alcohol for this kind of job.
Should I take a cloth and alcohol and clean the contacts of the fenix I sold almost a year ago? Any more good advice? :D
With your rag with alcohol you could till your death try to revive them - unsuccessfully I'll write you right away.
I see you can get silicone dust covers / plugs for these watches for the charging port. Would probably help :)
I just used this silicone plug practically all the time I used the F6X - as you can see it did not help :)) , so now in my F7X I no longer use it - instead I bought it from a store that offers me a 3-year warranty ( on the F6X I had a two-year )
Venu 3 has usb c and is basically the same size as Venu 2 with Garmin plug and has better battery life than the Venu 2.
He's talking about a USB-C connector on the watch, not the host end of the charging cable.
When all the bugs of Fenix 7 is killed...
