DSW: How often (and at what time of the day) is the Daily Suggested Workout updated ?

Hi everyone,

I have noticed a couple of time that after I checked the Daily Suggested Workout (DSW) when I wake up (like with the Morning Summary), I get ready for my day, organise my schedule and in particular my timewindow for a lunch run.

But then, it happened few times that in the changing room, when I check the DSW again, it has changed... Sometimes suggesting a Rest when I was ready to go, or a Base run when I was readied and motivated for a Threshold run...

How often and at what time of the day is the Daily Suggested Workout updated ?

PS: A detail of importance: when I check my morning summary (and the DSW) there is no connection between the Fenix 7 and Garmin Connect (the phone is out of reach), so the DSW might be old from the evening before, but the sleep data are availalbe in the watch.

Thanks in advance.

  • Additional information:

I do not use a training plan.

I set events in my calendar and the suggested workouts are designed in view of these events.

    Thanks

  • I never observed DSW change during the day, what I have in suggestion at the morning, stays there whole day.
Of course, after activity, suggested workouts for next days might change.

  • From my experience, your watch will dynamically adjust the daily suggested workout if your training readiness goes down throughout the day in response to exercise or other stresses.  There is not a set timeframe where this occurs for me.

Is that what's happening for you?

  • Hi 9640767,

I guess that is the answer, a dynamic adjustment to training readiness.

In my case, there was no exercice in between, but probably an adjustment online once the bad (or simply "not so good") night data were uploaded, possibly also influenced by stressed morning hours...

That would make sense and look like what happened...

And it also matches the changes in the current suggestions after the midday runs. Sometime I do not perform the DSW, when I consider them too "easy", and I can see the rest of the week DSW adjusting themselves after my run (say 1 hour later, they have adjusted).

    Thanks again everyone
