problems with the watch bands of fenix 7x (26mm)

- itching
- irritation
- dry skin

I have been using Garmin watches for over 10 years and have NEVER had any problems with the bands. Unfortunately with this Fenix 7X I'm experiencing numerous problems among those listed. I tried all the solutions proposed on the Garmin website (change arm, dry the watch well, etc.) so I used the old fenix 5x+ band and the skin is fine!

What has changed in these bands, apparently they look similar (right 5x+) ?!

Maybe you need to put a serial number on the straps to identify problem batches. I've tried 3 timites to go back to the 7x band but I always have problems and will never use it again. I am definitely disappointed with the poor quality of the new bands and this experience is very bad.

  • If your usage is the same as before, and you wash them in same manner as Fnix 5 bands, than their quality changed.

  • Exact. I have had many Garmin watches (vivosmart, vivofit, vivoactive 3, legacy first avenger, fenix 5s, fenix 5x+) and never had any problems with those straps.

I went to read how silicone is produced and I discover that the materials and substances can be different from one production batch to another. For this reason I suggested adopting a serial number to identify problem lots.

  • I agree with you. I'm on probably my 10th Garmin watch, and the Fenix 7X Sapphire band is irritating to the skin on my wrist. No other watch band has ever done that to me.

  • Try silicone straps from AliExpress. I found it much more comfortable than genuine Garmin strap included. Especially during the night, I don't feel that I'd have something on my wrist.

I like the Anbest "brand" straps for Fenix 6 on Aliexpress, that have a screwbar clasp instead of one with a spring. I recommend to "stresstest" them before use (tugging, twisting, bending them to make sure the quickfit mechanism does not release too easily), quality control is not always excellent.

  • I have a Fenix 7X Sapphire Pro and the bands that came with the watch also gave me a severe rash and skin irritation. I’m not allergic to anything so im guessing its the material the bands are made of.

  • Hi, in the meantime I bought 2 nylon straps from Hemsut (on amazon 37eur) and I am very satisfied.

I also tried a couple of similar straps, but much cheaper than Hemsut (on aliexpress) and they are fine but they fade quickly and are longer, I have not had any problems.

I also report that I have worn the most recent strap of the Epix 2Gen 51mm and I have not had any problems. For this reason I reiterate to Garmin that it is important to have a serial number for the straps and to check the problematic batches.
