wanting to finally get back in shape a few months ago, i purchases an instinct 2s. i loved it. i loved it so much that when the christmas sale came around, i convinced my wife that i needed a fenix 7x pro.
and that’s what Santa brought me, and i love it.
except…
for the past 2-3 weeks, the HRV data and sleep data seems so far off from anything i was getting before and anything i got with the instinct 2.
at first i just trusted it - HRV was woefully out of balance and my watch/Connect told me to take it easy. so i did. so easy that eventually the training widget said i was “untraining”
i never got sick. but i eventually got tired of pretending that sickness was right around the corner. so i started working out again. i went on some runs, went skiing, took some long walks. nothing crazy. my HRV has been moving back up with this increase in fitness. but my sleep…oh, my sleep.
i slept for 8+ hours last night and i got a score of 40.
40.
yes, i have kids, and yes, that causes me to wake up a couple times a night, but that is fairly common for me. yet, a score of 40 is not common.
maybe i have the watch too tight or too loose on my wrist i try to keep it fairly loose during the day and i’ve just recently tried tightening the strap before a workout.
i don’t know, i just don’t trust the data that i’ve been getting the last few weeks and i’m tired of the training widget telling me for days and weeks that i’m “straining” - i’m not straining. i’m not doing any more than i usually do, and, in fact, it feels like i’m doing less.
i suspect it could be the latest firmware changes. i don’t know. so frustrated. i’ll just carry on and hope it continues, but i’m curious if this is common behavior for when you get software updates, or if anybody saw a difference weeks after switching to a fenix, or i don’t know…it doesn’t seem like enough of a problem to be hardware related but…i…just don’t know at this point.
i hate that so much of the recommendations made by the watch depend on data collected during sleep, yet this watch seems to be worse than my cheap fitbit was at collecting accurate sleep data.
