Hello, it is difficult to imagine what you mean by roadbook.
But if you mean a map of the path drawn in advance (when you start the activity), with all the pointers, warnings, POI, critical points, then yes, it is standard.
On https://connect.garmin.com/ or phone app, you go under TRAINING & PLANNING -> Courses (direct link https://connect.garmin.com/modern/courses), there you manually create the course or import a GPX, then send to device.
Sync the watch.
And then before you start an activity you go under options -> NAVIGATE -> Courses.... then you will have an extra screen on the activity with the map, and also vibration warnings in advance when there is a POI up ahead or you go off track...
Nice ! And I have information about distance to the next POI (checkpoint) ? Elevation to the next checkpoint ? Maximum time to going (cut off) ?
Jeah, as Joel said... the point is to create your course points that you are interested in, then you have with latest firmware the option to split screen addition info on the map screen or put info circular around at the edge, and put there info you need, everything is there also NEXT WAYPOINT, NEXT FORK, and so on... also you will get an additional screen of altitude profile, easy to see where you are and what is expected :)
Do you mean Up Ahead feature?
Although Up Ahead can't display cutoff times, only distances. It would be great though if we could associate a time goal with every course point on the Up Ahead screen.
You can rename a course point to a certain time.
e.g. instead of naming a course point => “food station” you name that course point => “2:15” or “2:15FS.”
The Up Ahead should reflect the name of the course point, “2:15.”
This is a nice workaround! Unfortunately course point names are limited to 15 characters. Having the goal time in front takes 5-6 characters out of the limit but that is better than nothing.
I use the watch to write down aid stations with expected time and cut off.
my waypoints look like this:
4. 13:00(15:00)
4 is the aid station index
13:00 is when I expect to be there based on the plan
15:00 is the cutoff
Make sure you do not add directions as it will skew your next poi
