Does the Fenix 7X screen actually display more vs 7?

The display size of the Fenix 7 is 33.02 mm, 260,260 pixels. The 7X: 35.56 mm, 280x280 pixels. I assume that there will be more of the map displayed, and compared side by side with a Fenix 6X this is the case. But to be suee, someone who has used both 7 models side by side can better answer this.

I think of it like a television. Whether it's 40 inches or 60 inches, the picture is the same, just bigger and a little sharper because of the higher resolution.
But it should hardly be noticeable.

that's a big difference for map display, clear advantage to the 7x, it make it more useable in my opinion...

Garmin is using Bitmap fonts on the Fenix watches.They do not resize, so the same font will be smaller on the larger resolution display.

Only if the higher resolution screen is the same size. But the higher resolution screen is bigger in this case, so the pixel density is about the same. I don't expect a difference in font size. Or am i missing something?

The font will remain at for example 14px, if the display has more pixel it will fill less of the higher resolution screen and display more data.

Okay, yes. Less space relative to the screen size. But not smaller in absolute numbers. 14px is the same size on both (the pixels have the same size in both).

And then there is the whole 2 more data-fields on screen during activities for the X version.

Thanks all! I went to the garmin store and compared the 7 and 7X side-by-side - there is slightly more information displayed on the 7X, noticeable already from the activities menu where you just see a little bit more vs the smaller model. Maps should be the same then.
